Poem & Art:
"Did you know, in this world, there's a large label maker?
That types tags reading words, like 'gorgeous' or 'faker'
And line after line, people wait for their turn
To get one label tagged on their head, like worth earned
But oh how these labels put souls in a box
Saying, wow he's 'pure brains,' and she's 'beauty's goldilocks'
& Oh how I'm tired of each and every tag,
How they hover on our heads for some to read, nag, or brag
So today, may I ask one strong, small favor,
Let's rip up these tags, no receipts or small waivers
These tags cannot love, cannot breathe, move, or think
Cannot show the many hues of your diverse, heart beats
They cannot swim, cannot dance, or drink rain up to the full
So please don't give them such power, such tugs, and daily pulls
You matter because you breathe, not because of some fancy label
You've beautiful because you're you, so now it's time to turn the tables
Just rip up the tags, let them fly, and dance today
For you are not any one word, you're a joy to exclaim!
Texas needs you.

Nausceous, that's usual for a girl like me.
Though I stand on land, sea sickness comes naturally.
My stomach start churning each time,
I see the world
So broken up and I'm just adding another
Not sure who I am to be.
So lost inside this stormy sea
So won't you, rescue us now?
We're just sea ship wrecks,
With tasseled bows,
You've got to, rescue us now.
